Am I the only one who is worried ?

I'm so scared that one day I might go in for an appointment and there is no heartbeat maybe because it's too soon for me to feel my baby move inside me . And it's a scary thing so I find myself constantly buying pregnancy tests to see if I'm still pregnant . I will be 12 weeks tomorrow I was just wondering if I was the only one who does this

I try to find the underlying positive feeling underneath my fear and then send my mind to focus on that. Like: "I'm afraid my baby won't make it" is actually more about "I love this little one so much already and want everything to be ok for it." That's a subtle shift maybe but I find it puts my mind on something real (the love I feel & my protective instincts) rather than something I'm only imagining (my baby isn't going to make it or something is wrong with him/her). You are definitely not the only one who worries this way, but why live in a future that might never arrive and lose the chance to live in the present that is already here? (I'm not trying to downplay your concern btw, just that I *know* how scary this all can be and I don't think it has to be that way. Definitely try to hear your baby's heartbeat on the Doppler if you can-- that really gave me a big confidence boost.)

I think it's a super common fear- hence why we love to hear & see baby on scans/ monitors. You can't let yourself get super worried- it's unhealthy. Enjoy being pregnant & don't open any threads on here that look depressing. 😒 all the best- enjoy this time!! 😀

Everyday!! My biggest fear is going to my next appointment and not hearing a heartbeat. I wish they had a way so I could check on baby every day

I'm so nervous! I have an OB check next week Friday and reading other stories im afraid I'll go in and there's no heartbeat. 😬

From 9 weeks until I feel baby move is my "freak out" period. All 5 of my pregnancys it has happened. 9 weeks is when placenta takes the hormone load and reduces the sicky gross feelings. I went to my routine midwife appointment yesterday and heard peanuts heartbeat so I've calmed down for now:) 13 weeks now, so not much longer to wait for feeling baby..

Urgh I'm the same way!!! I started bleeding on Tuesday and just thought the worst!!! After I saw my baby's heartbeat and saw him/her move I felt so relieved. They don't know what caused the bleeding so im still just worried 😢😢 I wish like someone said I could check on baby everyday. It is so scary to know anything can happen at any time that's why even though I hate the nausea and tender breast and being tired I'm thankful for it since it is still somewhat a sign that baby is ok and getting what it needs. I have had a total of 10 miscarriages and I am always nervous until I get to the doctor and hear the heartbeat and then I cry tears of happiness when I do!! Wishing lots of luck to all of you!

Of course! After 5 losses, we bought a Doppler for that exact fear. It really helps put the mind at ease

I have been feeling like that too since my first/last one I miscarried. I try not to stress because it's not good for baby. Just do your best to stay positive and think happy thoughts. Hopefully we will get to feel them soon and feel more at ease!

I worry about this all the time. I dream of misscarrages / bleeding. I'm 13 weeks, and haven't even told family / friends yet. I just try and forgive myself for it. I'm an anxious person and pregnancy was always going to be terrifying for me. I meditate every day and know that it's just my mind torturing me and has no basis in reality. Everytime I get upset with myself for it I try and let that go and tell myself it will be ok and to take one day at a time. I had a therapist once who told me when I get anxious to be as kind to myself as I would a frightened child. So I try and do that. Run a bubble bath, eat comforting food, wear something cosy...and mentally reassure myself that I can handle it. It gets me through. But also, I've a very pragmatic friend who's had three who told me that is completely normal to worry and to not turn it in to a big thing. Hope this helps x
