How to keep birth control secret?

Theres a guy who Im quite close friends with and he is very sexually promiscuous. I honestly don't trist myself to keep from hooking up with him, so I'm considering going on birth control. My biggest worry is that my parents will find out and get upset. How could I be 100% sure they didn't know about the birth control?

Let's see the guy is sexually promiscuous, despite knowing he's going to be sleeping with other people you don't think you can stop yourself from sleeping with him, you live at home (so are probably still in high school), and are afraid of your parents finding out that you're on birth control....frankly it sounds like you're not mentally or emotionally mature enough to be able to handle all the emotional and mental stress that can come from a sexual relationship.  You should find other ways to release your hormonal tension.

If you do have sex with the guy use some form of protection (along with condoms because you have no idea what kind of std he may have picked up from the other people he's sleeping with).  You don't sound anywhere near ready to handle an accidental pregnancy.

My advice... don't try to hide it.

Imagine how hard it will be trying to explain to your parents if the birth control fails or if you get a STI. The lack of self-control that you are afraid of is no reason to lie to your parents. Be honest with them and maybe they can help you through it. 
Also, maybe you should think of hanging out with someone else.

When I first started bc I went to Planned Parenthood because I didn't want my parents to know. I was in my 20s by then.

You should talk to your mom and tell her you want to get on bc. If you don't feel like telling her, if I were you I would get on a bc that you don't have to take every day or change once a week. Get on the depo shot. The doctor gives you a shot every three months. Good luck!!

Just so you know if you use your parents insurance they will find out. That is how my sister found out that her stepdaughter was on them at 13.

I hid mine too. The only ones who knew about it were me, my doctors, and my bf. I have storage bed, and there is only about an inch of space between my bed and the floor. So I hid it there. When it came to throwing away empty ones, I made sure to put inside of something that was going to get thrown away anyways. If you want to keep it a secret; you just have to get creative.
