Anyone ever got the birth control shot?

Did you like it, or have any side effects? I've heard bad things about it and wanted to know personal experiences.

I've been on it for almost 2 years. I've gained 35 lbs in a year. I started to not have periods after my second shot. I eat a lot now. I have painful intercourse. I hate it. I can't wait to get off of it.

I used it at a young age like 16-18 and it did NOT make me gain weight. My opinion is that it's pretty effective. Everyone has a different experience. For me it worked great for what it is meant to do. But it did mess up my cycles.

I have but I've only heard negative things about it. You should only use it if you want to gain weight.

I gained 50lb and had no sex drive. I also had horrible mood swings... So yeah, not my first choice!
