On bedrest till 36 weeks

Samantha • I have the most beautiful 6 year old daughter. Baby #2 due in March! It's a boy!!!
So this pregnancy has been so much harder than my first! Everything was going great till my 20 week anatomy ultrasound. During my u/s the found the my cervix was really short and funneling open at the top. Little mans foot was actually sitting in the opening of my cervix. My doctor put me on vaginal progesterone suppositories right away and scheduled another ultrasound for 2 weeks to see if my cervix was going to continue to become shorter. Well next ultrasound showed my cervix was even shorter and funneling more, we talked about a cerclage but decided against it because I went full term with my daughter (which is a sign that I will go full term with this one) and the risks put weighed the benefits at this point. So I was to continue the suppositories and hope for the best. At my next appt around 24 weeks my dr checked my cervix through a vaginal exam and it was closed : ) and also did a fetal fibronectin test (FFN) which test for possibility of preterm labor which came back neg, YAY all good signs. So next appt at 28/29 weeks we repeated the vag exam and FFN... I was 1 cm and 40% thinned out and my FFN came back positive : ( I was so worried! I had been having lots of pressure and Braxton hicks. Dr said she wasn't super concerned but gave me betamethazone for baby just in case. Everything had felt about the same the following 3 weeks, still having vag pressure and irregular contractions so I figured I was doing okay and happy I hadn't gone into preterm labor! But at my last appt 3 days ago 32 weeks, my dr did a vag exam with showed I am now 3 cm and 80% thinned out! Babies head is also really low ad sitting right on my cervix. So I am now on bed rest till 36 weeks. I am so worried about him coming early, anyone have a similar experience, positive thoughts or advice?
