Duphaston and iui

💞
I had my first iui in feb6. And been reading alot about it since then. I noticed that most or all the experiences i read where women take duphaston after iui.
Is it necessary to take it ? My dr didnt give anything to take. He just asked me to keep taking folic acid and relax.
Please anyone know if i should or shouldnt take ?

Oh then yes I have been on it after IUI. Some places automatically have you take it and some will test you at 7dpo to see if you need it, so it's not always necessary.

Duphaston (dydrogesterone) is prescribed during early pregnancy to help maintain the uterine lining, also known as endometrium, preventing it from growing and causing it to secrete hormones and other proteins necessary for a healthy pregnancy.

A lot of doctors prescribe progesterone for you to take after your iui. Some don't prescribe it until you get a positive though. If you'd feel better on it, ask your doctor for a prescription. It won't hurt to take it, can only help!
