Babies birthmark or something else?! (Pic)

Question

This is smack dab on top of my sons head. Wasn't this dark at 1st dr. appt with the pediatrician and he doesn't go back till March 3rd. She said it's probably a birth mark but that was said when it was very faint pink. Should I call to get in earlier? It doesn't appear painful to him or anything. Has any seen anything like this with their newborn?!

I had a strawberry. When I was born and it's gone ... I have no birthmark now.

Mine has them in little patches all over his face, head, and neck. The dr. Said they will eventually fade and go away... Except for the ones on the back of his neck (right at his hairline) she says those are permanent birthmarks.

My cousin was born with a strawberry in the middle of his forehead.  It was gone by his second birthday.

It's a birthmark. My lil guy has one on his face.  It started out super light and changed in color. Dr said it'll fade by the time he's two. She called it a salmon patch.

My daughter has three. Just recently seen a dermatologist for it bc it's extremely big. I suggest to go get an opinion from a dermatologist.

It looks like a hemangioma. My son has 3. Because one of his was so large they send us for an abdominal ultrasound to be sure he doesn't have any of them internally. Thankfully his ultrasound was normal! We were told it would go away in time.

Sometimes people call them strawberries. Dr will probably wait and see what happens. They usually don't intervene unless it's close to an eye or something. It will be gone in no time.

Kinda looks like it might be a hemangioma birthmark but I'm not sure. I'd ask his dr.

I had the same thing when I was a baby. It's normal and may disappear over time as mine did. I had it on top of my head.
