First Baby, First Shower, TOO LATE?

Question

Due to graduations and birthday parties my shower got moved back to May 17, almost at the 37 week point! I have had an AMAZINGLY pregnancy thus far no sickness, minimal pain, and working more than ever before (happily), however I am very afraid that this date is too late to have a shower? What if I'm too big or tired? What if baby comes too early? Or what if I don't have time or energy to organize the nursy as I wabt. Second and third time moms please help me out?

I'm having mine about 35-36 weeks and my girlfriend had hers about 36-37 weeks, it will still be nice, just have a comfy chair

I don't think that's too late. I was 35-36 weeks when I had my first baby shower and was induced at 39 weeks so the timing was great. I had a relatively healthy pregnancy too. I started to nest around that time so I had the energy to get everything washed and ready for baby's arrival. This time I will do it maybe two months sooner as my daughter is two and I'll be exhausted when my son arrives this summer.

Well, hopefully you won't go early! But if you do, you can always have the shower AFTER baby as more of a meet and greet party!

At 37w, sure you will be bigger but doesn't necessarily mean you will be uncomfortable. Just take advantage of the day of pampering! All you have to do is sit there! Let your guests come to you! Everyone will be offering to bring you food or drink or anything you need-- so just sit back and enjoy!
