Cold Sores?

Any suggestions for quick and easy home remedies to get rid of a cold sore? 😦

The key is to keep them dry so that the surrounding cells aren't also affected. Abreva helps with doing that but I also heard that a paste made from baking soda, vinegar and aspirin helps. I believe tea tree oil would help in the drying up the active sore, and it kills bacteria.

My husband gets cold sores and the capho phenique brand cold sore treatment works good, its kind of like the tea tree oil one. Also there are vitamins that help too I think its zinc.

Wipe it with alcohol every hour and put Carmex on it in between with a qtip. It burns a little but the alcohol makes it go away fast. I think this works better than the Abreva sold over the counter for $20.

It hurts, but I'll pop the blisters with a (clean and sterile) safety pin and then just keep it dried up with L-lysine cream.

L-lysine is and OTC for lip health. Always have a huge bottle in the medicine cabinet:)

Guess it's not a home remedy but tea tree oil works wonders!
