Do you think "creative" baby names should be legal?

"Creative" names are made-up ones, that are not a real word in any language, common domestic name, or any recycled name. Recycled being that a child is named after any noun.

I'm not sure where you live, but for me as an American the thought of not being able to name my child whatever the heck I want makes me sick. 
I know this is all thereoretical but it shouldn't be illegal because that's an infringement upon our rights. 
I might think your name choice is tacky and in poor judgement, but you deserve the right to name to your kid pineapple if you want to.

In Sweden we have rules about what you can name your child: not super strict ones though.

I think there's should be some limitations. There's too many kids with really awful names out there. Just because mom and dad wants to be creative doesn't mean the baby should suffer all his/her life with an awful name that will be cause for bullying etc.

I read there's 400+ kids named "abcde". Look, I'm happy it's legal to name your kid whatever, but I do think people should think about the long term. Something short-sighted teens can't grasp apparently. "Hashtag" is apparently also a name now.. Good God, I mourn for these adult lives.

Idk if I would go as far as making it illegal. I don't understand why some women want to name their children ridiculous names just to be "unique". No. You're stupid. Pick a name that makes sense. I'm not talking about common names that are spelt different. I mean names like hashtag, poop, batman, names that have symbols, or even names that no one could possible announce. Come on.

So... What is a "made up" name ? Because technically, they're all "made up". Names are words, and words are just that...words. Name your kid anything you want, its your choice to have your kid ridiculed for the rest of his/her life. But really, what's a "made up" name?

I think "unique" or really just plain made up names are super stupid. But, hello, it would be even more stupid to make it illegal. It isn't your business to control what people name their kids just cause you don't like it.

the law would have to be extremely specific... I mean, we have freedom of speech where ppl can spew stupid stuff all day long for everyone to hear so I guess they should still have the freedom to name their kids stupid things, too. those kids have the right to change it later, too. oh well...
