Period cramps???

Question

Is it normal to have period cramps while in your 3rd trimester???

Also, is it a sign or something that the baby is coming or anything like that? 
Just curious..

I feel period like cramps when I'm having Braxton hicks

I have had pains that feel like a Pap smear :( went to the docs today and he sched me for an ultrasound. Baby has been head down for over a month. He didn't seem too worried thou. Said its normal as things are still stretching. This is where baby grows the fastest.
