36 week cervix check

I am 35+5 with first baby. I went for my cervix check today and my OB said she could feel the head! She said I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I know that is good but does it mean anything about my labor? I know everyone is different but maybe I can have an idea (even just the slightest) of what to expect.
