MIL doesn't seem to care :-(

My SO's brothers baby was just still born and since then his Mom seems to not care about our baby. She doesn't ask how I am feeling or how the baby's doing, but she will ask her niece about her pregnancy and how she is doing. I'm trying to be understanding but my MIL practly begged for a grandbaby and now she is distant and when my SO asked her why her response was "I'm just not feeling good"  I don't know what to do or how to feel. I feel selfish for feeling hurt when I know she is hurting herself, buts it's not fair to our baby to be disregarded.
