Pregnant and headwash?

Hey gals! I m from india . I don't know whether u ppl have this or not but my MiL told me not to wash my head till 7th month. Here we have baby shower at 7th month with a grand get together. And I can only wash my hair on that day since I m pregnant. Do u gals have anything like that?

I've never heard of that here in the US. I can't imagine that's healthy or hygentic to not wash it for 7 months. I am a hairstylist and clients hat wait a few days-to a week usually starT having issues. I'm not saying it's wrong, just would suggest doing it as a stylist

Of course to better understand this post I had to google it for myself and I found this blog and here's part of the post I read "The custom is that women who find themselves pregnant will not wash their hair for 7 months. There will then be a religious celebration and a hair washing event in the 7th month followed by no Head and Shoulders again until the baby is 4-6 weeks old.
I cannot imagine what this is like but am thankful that my understanding mother-in-law did not even ask if I would consider adhering to this custom. As compensation, I was asked to give up something for the duration of my pregnancy. So I gave up chocolate!! A relatively small price to pay for being able to wash my hair freely.
The custom stems from the days when women bathed in rivers. It was feared that bending over to wash their hair in the water would damage the baby and that the disease ridden waters would infect both mother and child. To make women adhere to this custom, religious customs were introduced to it." 
Pretty interesting to me but I don't think it's healthy to go that long without a good scalp scrub. Maybe ask her to give up something else for that time frame??

If that is part of your partners religion you will have to participate( because of where you from))Don't listen to negative comments.( I'm from the U.S.) but I'm a strong believer in sticking to your religion believes no matter what people say!!

Sorry to say bt at times MILs give uncalled advice. I dnt think u shud do that and hav never heard of that. If u r that much concerned plz talk to ur doctor!!
