Can you have ONE Braxton-hicks contraction?

I feel like I just had a BH contraction. I am 16+1. Before I was pregnant, every once in a while, while having my period, I would get a quick but particularly bad cramp, like literally my vagina was cramping and releasing.  Today's cramp felt pretty much like that. I'm not concerned, per dr, I just want to be able to identify what's going on. Any advice?

I had two BH in one hour last Friday. It was definitely across my belly and took my breath away. What you're describing sounds more like ligament pain, as those can go lower down then BH. Hope this helps!

Braxton hicks are the tightening and releasing of your uterus, not your vagina.. So if you feel tightening in your abdomen then that's a braxton hicks and yes definitely you can have only one.. They normally start from around 20 weeks onwards. They are more frequent toward the end of your pregnancy.. I'm 40 weeks in 2 days and get them for hours, 10 mins apart but it's all practice :) you might just have muscle pulls and pains :)

Braxton Hicks are a tightening of the uterus walls, and generally you'll feel tightening in your belly rather than down low. Could just be stretching you're feeling down there as everything expands.
