Menstrual like cramping?

Question

I've heard that if you have menstrual like cramping it means your body is preparing for labor. I'm almost 36 weeks, and been having menstrual like cramping the last day or two. Does that mean she is going to come soon or that I will just have this feeling up until I do have her, even if it's 40 weeks?

I have a crampy feeling but I think it's the Braxton hicks? Sometimes my uterus isn't hard completely though is thy what you have?? I'm only 27 weeks

36+3. I have been having period type cramps all week too. Seeing lots of posts like this on here from fellow 36 weekers. I think we are almost there!!

I had the cramping up to the day I had my daughter and I believe it started towards the beginning of the third trimester. I had to be induced at 39 and 4 days because of low fluid. It probably does mean your body is preparing but it doesn't mean your baby will be arriving sooner than later.
