Mid-cycle bleeding

I'm ttc and went to the gyno yesterday for my annual. She made me spit after my Pap smear which is normal. She told me that I was about to ovulate (after doing an intervaginal ultrasound) and that I should have sex... So I did. Today, I was in tremendous pain on my left side, and started to bleed even more. Now, when I wipe it looks like a full fledge af. Obviously, I just went to the dr and was told that I'm fine... But this concerns me. Anyone else get this?
