I say yes. But around the time I was wanting to have sex, me and my mom were (still are) very close. I could tell her anything. And me telling her showed her she can trust me, and she took me to get on birth control so I was protected. I am all for telling your mom. She may be upset or surprised but she will learn that you will do it regardless. So it would be best to get you on some kind of birth control. My mother would've been more pissed of I didn't let her know. Just my experience!
