How many cycles of metformin and clomid before you conceived?

I have PCOS. I was on Clomid 50mg for 6 cycles. Blood work showed I ovulated each month, but did not conceive. I got a second opinion and this doctor is suggesting adding Metformin and increasing my clomid to 100mg. Just curious as to how long it took for other women on this regimen to conceive. Thank you

I was told metformin is not an approved treatment for pcos. Most people have tried femera and conceived on first attempt.

I did not use metformin but it took me 6 cycles of Clomid to get pregnant the first time.

Ive been on metformin & progesterone now for almost 2 years and still haven't been able to concieve, but haven't started the Clomid cycles yet..

I haven't conceived yet, but here's what I have done. Cycle 1: Clomid 50mg, no response so upped to Clomid 100mg + Gonal-F injections + Ovidrel trigger. Cycle 2: Clomid 100mg + Metformin 500mg + Ovidrel trigger. Cycle 3: Clomid 100mg + Metformin 500mg + Follistim 50 units for 2 days + Ovidrel trigger.

My RE didn't suggest Metformin, I did - but not for fertility reasons. I have PCOS and am concerned about my health long term, especially diabetes, so I wanted to start taking Metformin to help regulate my insulin levels (which in turn helps balance hormones and improve fertility).

Also, my RE wanted me to use Follistim this cycle - I was responding well to the Clomid but because my past two cycles failed, he wanted to be a bit more aggressive this time, which is fine by me!

I'm on my 7th cycle of 150 mg clomid, added 500mg of metformin this month. CD 3-7 clomid metformin once a day until a positive pregnancy test. Good luck!

I used femara, stopped metformin about a month before starting the femara. I can't remember the dose but was only low dose of femara 1 tablet a day from cd 3-7 and got pregnant second cycle currently 25 weeks :)

I hav not conceive yet but I was on clomid 4 3cycles 50mg n ovulated but no luck still but my friend told me to add pre seed to plan so may b u cud look it up I heard real good feed backs from it

I would go with the new OB/GYN my did the same put me up to 100mg and added merformin and it happened the next month
