I have to wait?!?!

My OB is seeing me at 10 weeks but they don't do first US until 20 weeks. What?!?! I just wanna see our little marshmallow! Hopefully hearing the heartbeat in a couple weeks will be enough! Anyone else is the same boat?

Any chance you're in oregon? I heard the same thing and switched providers. I think if you raise a little hell at your 10wk appt you can get one then.

I was told that by the first provider, so I switched and they did an ultrasound the first appt (I was 5 weeks) and today at 8 (almost 9) weeks

Realy?? We have the 1st at 12w, then at 21w and the last one at 32!!!
How can that be?

They should be doing a scan at around 12 weeks to measure the nuchal fold thickness. That information in conjunction with a blood test at that stage will indicate your risk factor for Downs Syndrome. It's usually standard testing for all pregnant women, but if it's not being offered to you, request it.
