I have a paragard and I really like it. I never experienced irregular bleeding but I did have heavier periods, but overall for me the pros out weigh the cons.

I think IUDs are awesome, but only if you know what you're in for. If you're considering getting the Paragard, you should be aware that you will probably experience irregular bleeding the first couple months. After that, your periods will become more predictable, but heavier. Paragard is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy for up to 10 years though and IUDs are one of the most common forms of contraception worldwide.

Make sure you do your research. I have an IUD (not the Paragard) and I really like it, but I did a lot of research beforehand and I knew what to expect. The body usually needs a month or two to adjust.

I really want to try this birth control my sons 2 and I don't want another one for a while but I'm so worried about the horror stories of it damaging your womb or making a hole in it and so on! I still have loads of baby weight and my doctor said I should try the mini pill but everyone I know gained weight on that I need to loose weight not gain more! Do any of you mind sharing your insertation story?
