HSG Test

MirandaJL
How many of you have had one? My doctor thinks my tubes are blocked or not developed correctly (thus the egg and sperm are not meeting) and has suggested I have the HSG dye test done to find out. Insurance won't pay bc it's a fertility test and it's quite expensive. However, I have heard the dye could open the tubes if there are any flimsy adhesions blocking the path, allowing some women to get pregnant. I wonder if the test is really worth the money. I'm not super-obsessed with pregnancy, fyi. I'm not desperate and will probably not even consider IVF should it come to that. However, HSG I might consider. What results have you had with the HSG dye test?
