Waiting till 8 weeks?

Is it normal for doctors offices to wait to see you for your first appt till you're 8 weeks? My office won't even do a blood test till I'm 8 weeks, at that appointment... is this starndard protocol?

Unless you have a history of mc most won't see you before 8 weeks. Some even wait until 12 weeks. I'd had one mc so my doctor had my hcg and progesterone checked immediately with a follow up test in a week. We didn't meet with her or have an US until 8 weeks.

Yes. My first is 8 weeks too. The wait is killing me.

My gyno is going to take me for bloodwork, whether just to confirm the pregnancy or test for hcg I don't know, and we didn't discuss an early ultrasound. I'm only going to be 5.5 weeks at the time of the appointment. So I guess some of them don't stick to the 8-10 week time frame.

I went to my gp when i got a pos pregnancy test. She sent me for a blood test to confirm and gave me a form to have a dating scan around 6-8w which i had but i don't see my obsterician til 10w.

Normal - mine won't see me until I'm 9. I'm 7w1d now. I made the appointment at 4w4d

My doc wanted to wait until I was 7 weeks. But I had cramping really bad and went in around 4.

My pregnancy was confirmed at 4weeks by my midwife. Had an intake at 6/7weeks. First real appointment at 10weeks
