What's the difference between the pill and shot other then the obvious? Can it make you gain weight?

Yes, it can made you gain weight and many doctors won't prescribe it for more than 2 years because it causes bone density loss as well. It is also a higher dose of hormones than the pill and usually completely stops periods while on it. The other side effects are similar to other hormonal birth control.

I gained a lot of weight the year I was on Depo. Now than 50 pounds. I switched to the pill and was able to loose the weight and it cleared up my acne and maybe my period regular and bearable.

Different side effects for different women. I gained weight while on the depo and pills :/ bc sucks. If I didn't have to take it I would have never gotten on it.
