Will I have to be induced?

Question

I'm 39 weeks 0cm dilated. But my cervix is very thin. My midwife had a hard time finding it last appointment she felt the baby's head very low she started to freak out and thought it was time to push. But afterwards she told me I'm not dilated yet 😞. She started talking induction and scheduled it for 40w6d. The only good thing is she said I wouldn't have to push for long because the babies head is so low. Is it possible to go into labor before then? I don't know why I'm not dilating I'm a very active person and have been my entire pregnancy. 😟

Does this look like early labor? They feel like period cramps. I couldn't sleep the night before because I had horrible back pain. I've had bh all day yesterday and all day today I had painful contractions in my back and belly. They're painful enough for me to have to stop moving but not as painful as I'd think labor is. I haven't had no show or leaking fluids so I don't know what's going on. I'm a ftm. These are my contractions from the last 45 minutes

I was the same and went into labor 3 days later. I was 40 effaced no dialation

The cervix is not a crystal ball. I went from 3cm at 11a to 4cm at 5pm to 4cm 10pm to 10cm and pushing when i arrived at the hospital. 19hrs start to finish with my first. 
Another thing to remember is a lot of mommas go over due because its just a guess as to when baby will arrive. 
Unless something is wrong with you or baby i would not even think about induction until 42w.

Of course it's possible :) just walk loads and keep hydrated, bounce on a birthing ball and have baths. Fingers crossed you go yourself but if not don't panic :) baby will be here soon. You have lots of time to go yourself!

I never dilated or effaced during any of my appointments. When I went into labor at 39 weeks 4 days I went to the hospital and they did a check and I was only about 50% effaced and not even dilated a little! They hookede up to the monitors and told me they were going to watche for an hour and send me home. In that 1 hour I went to 100% effaced and 2 1/2 centimeters dilated and in full blown labor! I had my daughter 8hrs later! So don't be discouraged, it'll happen!!!
