Have you ever been involved with social services?

Bit of an odd one, but my baby got taken away last October, we took them to court... The judge was appalled by their behaviour and she came home after two and a half months. It makes me feel sick and scared now as I have realised that they have the power to do whatever they please.

I was wondering if any one else had any experiences with them?

I was in foster care my whole life until age 19, at 18 i had my first baby and my social worker had a new supervisor asked why i still had my child and my social worker stood up for me and ended up getting put on leave until they could investigate me

They showed up one day unexpected and had an officer take my son out to a police car, and a social worker badgered me with questions for 4 hours while my son sat screaming in a cop car terrified because he wanted his mommy. The worker showed up in my very clean house, made sure my son had a bed, dresser and clothing, diapers, made sure our home was properly cleaned, made sure i had properly fuctioning furniture, basic needs like laundry soap, toilet paper, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, food in my cupboards, fridge and freezer, tested my water temp, freezer temp, and fridge temp, after that she sat me down and badgered me with about a hundred stupid situations (what would i do if my child was injured? If he was sick? Misbehaving? Exc) what i do with my days (i was a full time student) what my boyfriend does all day (he worked full time and school parttime) and after passing all her outrageous tests she decided to take my son to the hospital to be evaluated for abuse and neglect and made the police escort me go to a different hospital with forms that needed to be filled out for drug testing, alcohol and mental illness and i had to get a full detailed report of my criminal record (not even a parking ticket) 
26 hours later they finally brought my baby boy back to me and she had the balls to ask me why i looked so rough and if i was drinking, after being up on the phone the whole time trying to figure out where my baby was and if they had planned on bringing him back home

I later had her charged with kidnapping because she had no real grounds to temp apprehend my child. She as well as the supervisor lost their license. But i never felt so much like a criminal in my life and nobody called in against me

Yes. I knew a sex worker who would work from home. She was addicted to cocaine and had a son who she was allowing pedephile customers to come to her child. I reported and she lost her son. I found out later than her mom had also reported her. Her sister legally adopted and raised her son well. He  has that sad haunted look but he at least has been in a loving caring home for this time. The biological mother has since quit cocaine and has an office job now. She visits her son once a week supervised by his adoptive mother/aunt.

Yes. I called on my older sister for neglecting her son and I called on my sister in law for the conditions my niece has to live in and her driving around with her in the car while high. I don't regret it in the slightest.

My husband would take his 6 year old son home from school on his motorcycle. We live 3 blocks from their school. The law in California is that they need a proper fitting helmet and a proper place for their feet, other than that there is no minimum age. His teacher called CPS on him after he failed to be available for a parent teacher conference because of work (he's on call and doesn't have much flexibility). CPS lady started quoting a bunch of car seat laws to my husband and he almost choked laughing at her. Then he explained the difference between automobiles and motorcycles in a condescending voice and handed her a print out of the motorcycle law stating he could let his kid ride with him on a motorcycle because of the helmet and foot mounts he has for him. My husband also let the school know they were wrong and he didn't appreciate their meddling in his affairs. He had CPS call the school and let them know the outcome too. Gawd I hate public schools. Constantly up in your business.

Not personally, but my friends has and I was Asked as a witness. I can honestly say in her case they completely dropped the bucket. Her three kids are now living in three different foster cares because her boyfriend (the dad) was molesting them. She is perfectly sane and is currently working and has support from her parents but they won't budge. It's horrible.

I've reported people to cps/dcf in the past since I am a mandated reporter. Even if I wasn't a mandated reporter I would have still completed every single report I've ever filed.

Yes only because I called and was taking care of the kids. We were going to take in the kids.
