Would you recommend the Depo shot?

I was on the birth control patch (Xulane) since December. I recently got off though in February. I don't want to get on pills because of remembering them and some of their side effects.  If you're on the shot please tell me your experience so I can make a guess on what I should do.

I became anemic .. I bled everyday nonstop for 6 months and lost 50 pounds!! It was the worse BC ever!!

The second time around was when I got my mirena IUD removed. I had to go on some form of BC until my doctor could see me again to get the new IUD put in, so he suggest the depo shot. I explained what happened with my first experience and he said he highly doubted it would happen again..LIES!!!

I got the second shot and BAM! Instant bleeding .. It last about 3 weeks and then my doctor had me taking double dosages of birth control pills just to make the bleeding stop.

I personally am no longer fond of BC anymore, mostly because I was in a long term relationship and now we are married, but the shot was one thing I definitely avoided. I got on the pill when I was seventeen. Not necessarily because I was active but my mother suggested it so I talked with my doctor and got one that helped with my acne which was my biggest concern. Best thing ever. I've had my girl friends and we'd discuss what type we were on and a few of them were on the shot and could not stand it. Some that I've known since 5 to be so lean blew up from the shot and lost a very noticeable amount of hair some had opposite side effect but would break out. I was on tri-sprintec which now I think is prevenim (something starting with a p) and I had no issues with it. Never had a recall, maintained my weight, and no acne. What another friend of mine used to do it just set an alarm to go off every day for her pill. Good luck

had no period, but after I got the shot was sick for two weeks. Body do ache! Headaches got worst. Acne got worse .

Never tried it and can't try it, I'm not recommended to take any birth control besides using condoms.

9 month long period, and it made my PPD really bad. I was suicidal the whole time, with a new baby. Miserable with a capital M.
