How many DPO am I??

Question

So I used OPKs for the first time this cycle. I had a clear surge on the morning of 2/27, Friday. How do I know how many DPO I am? Deciding when to test and I know that I am around 10-12 days past ovulation, depending on what counts as day one. The difference in DPO makes such a big difference when testing early so I want to be sure.  Any guidance greatly appreciated!

Answer

A LH surge usually indicates ovulation is coming in 12-48 hrs. *Usually* it's a safe bet to count the day after a surge as the day you ovulated. That would make the following day DPO 1. An example would be if you got a positive OPK's on the 2nd, you'll probably ovulate on the 3rd, and the 4th would be DPO1. I always ovulate in the 36-48 hour range.
