Should I tell my boss?

I've just found out I'm pregnant. I haven't told anyone other than my partner. My boss wants to see me this afternoon to plan out my responsibilities for the rest of the year.

I feel bad making commitments knowing I can't fullfill them.

Should I tell her now?

I have a great relationship with her. I know I'm under no obligation to tell her (I work for a union). We're under the pump staff wise so I just don't want her making plans then me not being able to fullfill my obligations.

It depends, you have no legal obligation to tell you boss ever (unless your job puts risks on your pregnancy) but depending on your relationship with your boss and the responsibilities you have, and if you feel comfortable with telling them. I told my boss right away but we are pretty close and my due date was the day before our biggest event of the year that I normally coordinate. Tell them when you feel ready.
