I tested around 2 in the afternoon... I think my instructions even said to do it around then, and im glad cuz the day I tested positive, I tested again in the evening and it was light again so I wouldn't even had realized I had a positive if I hadn't tested when I did

You should test later in the day also. LH is better detected 6 hours after wake up :)
