Does your cervix shorten?

I have been checking my cervix daily for about five months since we have been TTC. Has anyone noticed that during some parts of your cycle that the cervix is very short? I know that an infertile cervix sits low, but mine is low and quite short-compared to what I normally feel as low and long. I am on cycle day 23, with an average of 30-31 day cyles. I am 5 DPO.

Ashely, yes you can check it yourself. It takes a couple of cycles to get the hang of it. It's much easier to find near your period and then you will get the hang of what you are feeling. Around your fertile times it rises up so high, sometimes it's unreachble. Knowing where it is at can help you when trying to get pregnant.

My friends cervix has shorten during pregnancy which can cause a lot of issues and worry. How does one check their own cervix? Didn't know it was possible without the dr doing it.

They say after ovulation your cervix drops but if you conceive it will rise back up. Good luck!
