The Mediterranean diet is modeled from the eating habits of those in Southern Europe and generally includes lots of veggies and fruits, healthy grains, beans and nuts, fish, some meat and dairy, red wine, and olive oil. Study participants who followed the Mediterranean diet reduced their risk of adult-onset diabetes by 83%.
