I have worn glasses since 5th grade, and started wearing contacts just before entering 9th.  About a year ago my monthly contacts started becoming more and more uncomfortable.  I can barely wear them a few hours before I want to rip my eyes out.  One option is going to dailies. I am considering lasik, but hesitant about the whole being awake part.  I know it's a cosmetic thing, and glasses work for the most part.  What are your thoughts? How long was the recovery process if you had it done?
