I don't get this.. It's perfectly ok to burn the American flag, yet this is somehow offensive?

I know there are "rules" about how to treat the flag, but I don't understand how anyone could possibly find this offensive. It's a member if our military holding the two things he risks his life for. I think it's profoundly beautiful.

I come from a huge military family...and when i say huge I mean..my sister, her husband, both of my brothers, my husband, my sister in law and her husband, and my cousin are all in the marine corps..these pictures don't offend them at all...in fact they like them..in some way it does show respect for the military and the sacrifice they made and how their family is a proud to be American..I know when we have our first born we will have pictures done like this with his uniforms and the flag.. :)

It's a piece of material with a specific pattern. I think it's a nice photo. I'm not American I'm Australian and I would feel the same way if it was the Australian flag. Be proud of your country rather then a pattern printed on a piece of material. If it's ok to print that pattern on a bikini it should be fine to craddle a baby in it. They are showing that they are proud of their child and proud of the country that their child was born in and will grow up in.
