Kidney stones !???

Question

Waiting on results to find out if I have a kidney stone :( I'm really scared!!! I never had one before. Just curious if there's anybody on here that's had one before or know anything about it??? Please an Thanks

I had one while 16-17 weeks pregnant. It took 8 days to pass it an was just under the size limit for blasting it for removal. They coul only do sonograms. It started as a low dull ache in the back/hip area. Any time you feel pain, the stone is moving. They gave me a script for vicaden and sent me home. Next day, normal routine. Got to work. Nope. It came back with a vengeance. I left and had to have my mom rescue me part way to her house bc I felt like passing out. I laid in the fetal position with a hot pad on the pain. I had to pee like WHOAH. The urge to go was incredibly intense and nothing would come out. I wasn't drinking enough, felt nauseas. I eventually puked. Tylenol was touching it and got the vicaden filled. It knocked me out and offer about a 2 hour window of relief. Then more pain. Then I was no longer keeping liquids down and went to the ER. An over night stay, 4 rounds of morphine and 3 bags of water later...I was back to my normal self but no stone was passed. 6 more days went by before it came out and I spent the majority of my time on the couch in and out of consciousness. Between sleep deprivation and the drugs knocking me out. When it came out it looked like a rice crispie in size and color. I was never so happy in my life. I believe it was a result of me being so sick with morning sickness. Vicaden sucks. Morphine was wonderful. Drinking water with lemon is supposed to ward off stones, doesn't do much if you already have one. Hope it passes quickly!!

I've had at least ten kidney stones and my longest took a month to pass. My kidney stones are caused by high salt intake and not enough water. I have calcium deposits in my kidneys and they break off. I haven't had one on a while because I've been trying to take better care of myself. Drunk plenty of water and pure cranberry juice.

Had them my whole life. When I was 5, I had to have a gold ball sized stone percutaneously removed (surgery) because it was blocking the kidney & caused a severe infection. I've had 3 lithotripsys since then to break up smaller stones, & passed one about a month ago with no pain meds (for the first time ever). Worst pain I've ever experienced... I'm 17 now, & will forever have this issue. The best way to avoid stones (most, not all) depends heavily on your diet. Cranberry juice is not your friend when it comes to kidney stones.
Citrus is! No excess calcium (like drinking milk..) & no excess sodium (like dark sodas or soy sauce). You will be okay. Just pay attention to what your urologist suggest for you, & look into what may be the root cause of it! I found out a couple years ago that I have an endocrine disorder, which is the reason I've produced them so often.

So should I just let this pass by itself or should I take the medicine that they give me to help make it pass faster? They have not gave me nothing yet. I had to go to the hospital to get an ultrasound and that's how they found it, I went to see my OB/GYN that day also an she's not really supposed to tell me but she told me anyways about my results so I don't get to see my doctor yet not  until Monday :/ a nurse just called me she just told me if I am in to much pain that I should just go to the ER really!? :/  I don't know what to do!?! :(

It was the worst pain of my life but I would have rather felt the pain than deal with the side effects of the pain killers.

Everyone is different. I recently had a CT scan done in December only to find out I'm a producer of kidney stones, like my body just produces them and they just sit there in my kidneys. I haven't been in too much pain because of them, yet anyway. Just a lot of mild back pain and I think I may have passed one a few months ago as well. I didn't catch it so IDK if it was in fact a kidney stone and I really didn't think about it at the time. I had woken up in the middle of the night with the urgency to pee, I had gone to the bathroom but the urgency didn't go away and then I started getting a dull pain in my pelvic region, as if you were to open and close your fist. My first kidney stone, I wouldn't have even known I had one if it wasn't for the mild side pain that came and went. I had gone to the doctor to where they did ultrasounds and finally a CT scan shown that I had a kidney stone on my left side.

Had one when my son was 2 months old.. It was stuck and my kidney started swelling... Didn't take any meds bc I was breastfeeding... Eventually they had to remove it... Actually the removal wasn't that bad... They are thinking the stress of pregnancy and antacids where what cause it...
