Shower invitees?

1. Is it impolite to invite more than 12  guests to a shower?
2. Is it impolite to invite a person to more than 1 shower? (Other than mom/MIL? )

It's not impolite at all. I think there were like 45 at mine. But I've been to showers were there were probably almost 100. Just depends on your family/friends and budget. I don't have a huge family but I have a lot of friends.

Are you having 2 showers and that's why you are asking about inviting people 2 times?

I think the acceptable number of guests really depends on the shower itself. Is it one of many you will have? Would that be a burden financially on those throwing the shower? Twelve doesn't seem like an outrageous number to me.

Taking someone along to other showers could be odd to others but I wouldn't sweat it. Hopefully you aren't taking an entourage to all your events. Just remember to add her to your list of guests so those hosting will have an accurate headcount.

I went to a shower with probably 60 guests last year. Seemed fine. I have also been invited to 2 showers for the same person. A coworker who is also a friend. One was her private shower, one at work. It was a bit awkward. I bought her a gift for the main shower and then there was pressure to also give money at work for a big gift, plus everyone needed to bring a small gift to the work shower. If you decide to do this, I would have a conversation with that person and tell her not to get you a second gift, plus inform whoever is hosting the shower. She might still feel awkward going without a gift, so there's no guarantee that will solve it, I guess.

I had one large shower not multiple and I had about 40-45ppl. If ppl attended one I wouldn't reinvite but if they couldn't make one I'd tell them about the other
