5 second rule... or more?

Would you be ok with your toddler eating food off of the garage floor? My friend posted this casually... should I say something to her? I know kids get into things, they put their dirty hands in their mouths, they put stuff in their mouth that they may find on the floor...

BUT I feel like this is a bit much, and not sanitary.

Realistically, she probably snapped a picture because it is funny right before telling her to stop. But no, I don't have a problem with my kids eating off the floor. Even if I did, who cares what other people do?

The garage is so dirty. I mean car fumes and motor oil. Water from the AC of a car, just too much for a child

If it was the floor inside the house, that would be one thing, but the garage floor is probably full of toxins. Cars leak oil, antifreeze, dirty water, etc. you should definitely say something!

On first glance, gross. But, not your kid so you really don't have alot of room to say much. It's possible to gently bring it up, but I'd do so in a private or face to face manner, not over a public forum.

That's disgusting but if you say something she might get mad and think you're criticizing her parenting or something 😒 but no way in hell would I let my kid eat off the cement.

I eat stuff off my kitchen floor all the time. Let's be honest, for me it's more like a 1 minute rule. However I would never eat off my garage floor, that's just yucky. I have 3 motorbikes, my car, tools, camping equipment, you name it, in my garage. I'm not eating something that is probably covered in dirt, gasoline, or oil.

Not your place to say anything, I'm sure she'll be just fine. My child has picked up and eaten worse things from worse places, I'm sure, and she's fine and healthy.
