But technically I've had two proposals. The second came right before the wedding. An ex asked me to run away with him. Said 'if you wanna get married, I can give you that. Let's do it tonight.'

That time I said no. Probably the right choice because while he was my first love and still holds a special place in my heart, he wasn't THE ONE. And now he's sitting in jail. For at least the next 13 years. :/

I guess I sometimes wonder 'what if?' But only idly and never seriously. And more questioning whether he would have screwed up his life as much if I'd said yes than if it would have been better for me.

Been engaged 2 times. The first one was abusive. The 2nd one long story not going there. Put it this was it was all a show for his mommy and daddy because he knew they wouldn't approve of the real him.

Yes and I said yes, a year later he left me stranded on an island with no drivers licence (spent all our money getting him is licence) and not knowing anyone on that island and hours from any family or friends. I then had to pay a massive amount of rent until I could manage to get out of there. So I didn't pay the powerbill (in his name) We still talk sometimes but our friendship is very fragile...
