Period while pregnant?

I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and started spotting today, who has gotten there period while pregnant? For how long and what was it like? First pregnancy it didn't happen.... I'm worried about a miscarriage....

I had a 4 day bleed after I first found out I was pregnant. I compare it to a period because it was the same as my period with little clots and the cramps. But I know it wasn't an actual period. My little peanut is doing just fine so far.  😄😄

I have had bleeding on and off since 6wks. I was diagnosed as having Subchorionic hematoma, or a bleed in the uterus. They also call it a 'threatened miscarriage.' The dr said that ANY time there is bleeding during pregnancy, it will be called a threatened miscarriage. It's never a 'period,' as that is not possible. 
I was told that the bleed would either heal on its own, or cause miscarriage. 50/50 chance either way. It's now been 3 wks since I had any bleeding, so I am super hopeful that all will be well. 
If you are pregnant and bleeding, please know that it's not a 'period,' and that you should contact your doctor to get checked out. They did a vaginal ultrasound & regular ultrasound. Baby was perfect in every way, measured exactly where it should. Don't be afraid. It's not always bad news. Good luck, mama! Best wishes!

It's completely possible to get a period during pregnancy. You always wanna get it checked when it first starts, but some woman still get a period. I've known a few woman it's happened to and when I was pregnant with my youngest I had a light period in the beginning of the pregnancy. But if this is the first time you're bleeding, call your doctor or go get checked.

I didn't find out I was pregnant until 20 weeks. I still had what I thought was a period until finally it stopped. I never had any symptoms either. They really couldn't ever say why I was still bleeding those first few months

I had occasional spotting throughout my last pregnancy. That pregnancy was plagued with bleeding, extreme nausea and eventually preeclampsia which lead to a 10 week premature infant. He is absolutely fine now, with slight delays in speech and sensory but improving daily. Now your spotting could be related to an irritation of the cervix especially if you had intercourse recently. If your bleeding gets heavy and you get cramping then I suggest going to see a doctor. They can do an ultrasound and see if they can detect anything.

Woke up this am with small achy feeling wouldn't even call it cramps, not painful at all and the bleeding seems to be getting lighter. Put a pad on yesterday and there isn't much blood on it. Feeling a lil more hopeful today. Don't want to give my hopes up tho

If you are pregnant, it's not possible for it to be your period. Contact your ob/gyn so that they can assure all is well. Good luck

You could also have some slight bleeding if you are not drinking enough water. The water makes it easier for your uterus to expand.
