Skyla vs. Mirena?

Has anyone had the skyla(3year) is it better than mirena? Ive heard alot of negative things about mirena i didnt know if skyla was the same way

The difference is the size, skyla is smaller, so recommended if you have not had children. It also lasts for 3 years instead of 5. As far as I know, the hormone release is the same.

The hormone dose on Skyla (Jaydess) is less than on Mirena, so there it is less likely to have amenorrea (lack of period).
This is not a bad thing, but some women feel clamer if they have their period.

I've had the Mirena off-and-on for the past decade. For the most part I liked it. My periods were very light, like serious one quarter sized spot a month. Panty liners were all I ever needed. I've had my share of problems though. For some reason each one partially expelled on me. It's painful having a chunk of plastic lodged in your cervix. If you get an IUD be sure to check your string each month.

I haven't heard of skyla but i had a terrible experience with mirena. I'll never recommend it to anyone
