Who has the heavier responsibility for a child's upbringing?

If you rhink about it, a child usually needs 2 parents to make them feel safe. Child development class has taught me that often times when a child doesnt have one or the other, they are nore likely to be cranky

It really depends. My mom was a single mom for a while so obviously I would say her, however I know people who come from a single dad home. So I can't vote don't know what to put.

In my Friends situation it's the father, their mother chose drugs over her kids and the father stepped up and took complete responsibility for them

In society it is typically the mother.  HOWEVER, my father was a huge influence in my life, I had a great mom but dad wanted to be involved and took great pride in changing all of his childrens diapers.  My husband is also very active in my childrens life, esspecially once I ween them. (Before that they really only want moma)

In my house I have the responsibility. I am a stay at home mom and my husband is in the military so he is hardly home. But my brother is a pretty hands on dad. His ex wife is useless, thank god he found a great girlfriend to help him (they truly work as a team to get the kids where they need to be nd with homework).
