I went to school to be a dental assistant right out of high school... I was 18 when I graduated from the program and I am now 21. Out of the almost three years since I graduated I have worked in a dental office for all of 6 months (the office was small and no longer needed two assistants)

Dental didn't work out so well for me, so hopefully in the fall I will be going back to school to study phlebotomy/medical office assisting. I think it is a smart move on my part, I want a job and I think a jump from medical to dental is a good choice
