Ruptured right tube, 1 ectopic in left tube (I think) :(

Just want some thoughts on this.. 6 months after rupturing and losing my right tube I found out I was pregnant again. Had some minor pain on my left side. They went in and said they saw nothing in my tube but did remove a clot from my uterus.. (why would they remove it from my uterus that's not what I wanted them to do). They sent me home and a few days later I wake up to go pee and have the most horrible pain in the bottom of my stomach. I go to the er and they say I'm having a miscarriage I'm still pregnant and my levels have doubled.. Wtf.. The doctor recommend I terminate since the ultrasound showed nothing in my uterus and they didn't see it in my tube. I was given Methotrexate to end it bc they couldn't tell me where I was pregnant at.. 6 years later I'm still ttc with no luck. Nothing.. I know with scare tissue, 1 tube and previous ectopic( I think) my chances are low..but did the doctors do the right thing? I'm confused!! The doctor says it's still possible but recommends IVF (which I don't have the money for)..
