Parents with colored hair/body mods?

Question

What do you think? Bad influence and example to impressionable kids? Good example in loving yourself and being unique? Does it make a difference if a person is a good person, professional or parent?

I've been experincing some very small minded and rude people lately but I'd love to know your thoughts. Share your thoughts and/or pics below!

I don't care what you look like being a good parent is the way you raise your child. Wether you do that covered in tattoos or not doesn't matter to me.

I saw a tumblr post a few days ago where a little girl asked her tattooed parents how old she would have to be before the pictures started showing up. Thought it was cute lol

All a child needs are parents who can show and give unconditional love. It doesn't matter if their parents have different skin colours, if their parents are the same sex, if their parents have piercings 💗 a good role model is based on positive actions and behaviour and that is what your child will pick up on. x

My parents absolutely hate all my body mods- especially tattoos. They say it makes me look "trashy". My response to this ALL THE TIME is: body modifications do not make a person look "trashy". If a person looks trashy it's because they're trashy, If their attitude is trashy, they're trashy. I don't consider myself trashy, I have 4 large sized tattoos(planning to get many more), my septum pierced, my industrial pierced, and my ears stretched. I'm in one of Canada's top graphic design programs that's recognized internationally and I work part time at my university. If someone is willing to judge me based on my body mods then they can fuck right off because my open mindedness is 100% better than their closed minded mentality. You're absolutely beautiful, don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. ☺️

I just got my belly button pierced and I love it so much I can't even tell you. Obviously it is easier to hide but you can still see it through some shirts. I am also not a mother, but anyway.

My best friends are all tattooed up and pierced. I think if i ridiculous to even consider that it makes you a bad example for your children. It has no correlation.

I will teach my children that they can do what they wish with their bodies as long as they are still appropriate in professional situations.

Btw, love your piercing.

I think you look beautiful! And pardon my french but fuck what other people think. You know how you are at parenting and so does the people who love and and most importantly your baby. How you look says absolutely nothing about your skills at parenting. I've seen a lot of people with one colored hair and no body modifications that suck at parenting lol

I don't think it has anything to do with how good you are as a parent. My parents don't have tattoo or anything, my mum has single lobe piercings and that's it. They're against tattoos and colouring hair.

As soon as I left home for uni I dip dyed my hair, got my daith done and started doing my own henna tattoos 😜 my sister also got 4 new piercings after leaving home and is planning a couple real tattoos. My brother isn't the type to get anything done.

I love my parents but it's my body and their appearance didn't really affect me past not doing anything like that when I lived at home. If they did have dyed hair, piercings and tattoos then maybe I would have got my stuff done earlier but that's all. I'm still the same person and their decisions haven't really affected me in that part of my life.

If anything, the few friends I have with parents who do have body modifications etc. are probably the most expressive and confident people I know. Their parents let them express themselves through their appearance their whole lives and it worked out for them.

I don't really take a lot of photos so don't have any to show my hair properly but here's my daith piercing and one of (many 😝) henna tattoos 😊
