Ladies please help, money is tight and i and my fiance really want a nice wedding how did you guys afford it and any advice on how to get started?

Have your wedding in the fall. Fall and winter are the off season for many wedding things, you can often find a nice place for much cheaper. 
Make everything you can
Serve sandwiches, cuts out the cost of a caterer 
Ask your family to help you make things, I made my wedding dress
You do not HAVE to break the bank to have a nice wedding

Husband and I went for a nice courthouse wedding. Spent a little under 200 on ring and dress, he used items from his closet. Then we invited a bunch of close friends and family to the courthouse, and afterwards we all went to an industrial club for the reception. May not work for everyone, but we didn't spend that much and had a blast.

My parents are very old school. We had a huge weekend event. My parents paid for the actual wedding, and my husbands family paid for the dinner the night before and the brunch the day after. I know in this day and age a lot of people have to pay for the entire things themselves. That being said, do what you can afford. Don't go into debt because of a wedding. Make it small and intimate, nothing wrong with that.

Oh and if you're hiring places and things, do not mention the word: wedding! Prices jump a mile up when things are for a wedding.

We didnt have that big of a wedding. We had a ceremonywith his close friends and my parents at our church than dinner at a restaurant. We had close friends who paid honeymoon at a luxurious hotel.
