When are you planning to return to work after having a baby?

Question

My company offers 18 weeks of maternity leave, plus I will have 2 months of AL saved up, so Im planning to be back at work after 6 month. I'm really lucky thatmy mom agreed to come over and look after her grandchild. 
What about you?
If you are returning back to work, are you planning to have a nany or use childcare?
Any other thoughs/comments?

Im planing on waiting until this one is in school before returning back to work that wat I can work the 8 hours that my boys r in school and then be home for them when tey get home.

I will take 2 months off and then go back. Luckily, I work at a day care center that provides free child care to employees.

I'm honestly not even sure if I would return to work. I work in retail, so my pay is not high at all. The cost of daycare would surpass what I would be making. 
So in the end, I don't think it would be worth it for me to go back to work. Plus, my SO would be more than happy to support me and the child financially, as he has a good job.

Im honestly surprised on how many of you will be staying at home. I never realised that it is that common in US. Great for kids and family I guess, but probably bery hard financialy. I make much more than my husband, although we are both professionals with good careers. But I cant imagin living of one income(

I am lucky to get 6 months off at my job. Then I will go back and we will use a nanny. We work abnormal hours, I have to leave by 5 am and my hubby works graveyard, so traditional daycare won't work for us. I just don't see myself being the stay at home type. I have a great job and love it.

I wasn't working but I went back to school 3 weeks.  I picked up my senior schedule the day I got out of the hospital and started back the first day of school.

I stayed for eight weeks with my first and I'll be staying out eight weeks with my second in July :) i wish I could be a sahm but we need to save the money since next year we'll be starting pharmacy school.

My plan was to go back to work after the 6 weeks, but I ended up getting laid off and now I'm not sure when I want to go back. There's too many things I could miss in the first year and I'm just not ready to leave my baby yet
