Heartburn!

I've always had heartburn even before I was pregnant and was prescribed omeprazole. When I got pregnant I stopped taking the medication and started just using tums but they don't get the job done. My doctor said I could use Pepcid AC. What does everyone else use? Is it bad to use daily? I'm 27 weeks pregnant
