Why do we bleed when we miss our pill?

I forgot to take my pill for 3 days. No I'm def not getting pregnant. I just don't get why I would bleed.

Answer

Because the pill regulates your cycle, it is all hormones.  The pill uses hormones to keep you from ovulating, when the pills stop (your sugar pills) that is cue to your body to menstrate.  You now could potentially ovulate, so while you are not pregnat yet, if you do mot use extra protection you could become pregnant.
