How many ultrasounds do you get?

I had an ultrasound done at 7 weeks and now I don't get another until I'm 20 weeks. Is this normal? I want to see my baby much more than that..lol

My doctor told me you're suppose to get 3 throughout your pregnancy. 1) To determine how far along you are. 2) To make sure the baby is still growing and developing properly and 3) To determine the gender of your baby.

They usually don't order ultrasounds, unless it's medically needed. Usually most doctors see you every 4 weeks, until 28-30 weeks. Then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. Then every week until you deliver. At prenatal drs appointments they will ask for a urine sample, listen to the heart beat with a Doppler, and then measure the size of your stomach. Unless there is a medical reason, or an emergency usually you dont get an ultrasound. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow, and I've had 3 ultrasounds total. 1st was in the ER at 6 weeks 2 days when i thought i was misscarrying. 2nd was at my drs office at 18 weeks to see the gender and check up. And the 3rd was a 3D ultrasound i paid out of pocket for. So with my Dr. I've only had 1 ultrasound.

I'm in nz and generally speaking you get 3 here. Dating scan, 12 wks for nucal measurements and 20 weeks for anatomy measurements if everything looks good then that's it. It's not too hard to wrangle more though apparently.

I had my first one at 12 weeks, second one at 18 weeks which was my gender scan, and the third @ 26 weeks which was at a private company to get my 3d pictures.

I get one every 4 weeks my first was at 8 my second will be at 11 and then i get one when I'm 15 and so on...

Totally normal. I got my dating scan at 11 weeks and have my anomaly scan at 22 weeks and that's it. I plan on doing a private 3d one around 28 weeks.

I had one @4 weeks when I was just finding out I was pregnant. Then another @7 weeks, thn @10 now I have my next one @14 weeks.

I think Ill get about 6 I have had one at 10 weeks getting another at 14 and another at 20 & the rest my midwife said it will be every 2 weeks 😊

Man I'm glad I'm not in the us! I'm 20 weeks and have had 5 lol. My husband works in the maternity ward so I've had 2 done there for free, and then I've had 2 with my doctor, and one my mom paid for so we could see the gender.
