My mother and best friend were throwing us a coed shower. My mom lives 4 hours away and all attendees are local to me, so best friend, who is also my neighbor, offered to have it at his house. Long story short...can't have it at his place now and don't want my mom to shell out $ for venue. This is our first together, but between SO and I we have an 8,7&6 year old so we have no baby stuff. Part of me is inclined to just say forget it, but I was really looking forward to it.  ...my only thought is for my mom to have it at my house (it was going to be a BaByQue theme.). Is this totally classless and tacky or acceptable?  Please let me know what you think with much thanks.
