Is it 100% confirmed?

Question

At 19 weeks, I get to find out the sex during an ultrasound. 
Is it 100% confirmed at that time? Or can the sex end up 'changing' after 19 weeks? 
This will be my last ultrasound, & I just don't want any surprises when i give birth lol. 
I know it sounds silly but I've heard a lot of stories about the sex not being fully developed during the ultra sound so the sex ends up changing.  I'm not sure how far along those ladies were.

Do you think 19 weeks would be too early for a definet confirmation?

My office does gender ultrasounds between 18-20 weeks and won't guarantee the gender before that. I'm going at 19 weeks also since that's when I'm due for the next appointment, and crossing my fingers baby cooperates! 👍

I've never had sex "change" at that point. Both my ultrasounds between 18-20 weeks said girl & I had girls

The sex can't "change", persay. The baby is what it is. But, the technician could potentially read the ultrasound incorrectly or have a difficult time getting a good view. It's rare, but occasionally a mother will be told she's having a boy or girl and end up with a surprise at birth.

I'm pretty sure the sex organs fully develop between 12-14 wks so at 19 you should be good as long as they get a good unobstructed view.
A doc at my work got a good view at about 17 wks and said girl and then close to 19 wks told girl again.

While your baby's sex of course won't change anymore, the ultrasound tech's assessment is not 100% accurate. I asked mine how sure she was and she said they can never be 100% sure. She wouldn't commit to a percentage, though. 😄 I asked because I had two friends who were told girl at 20 weeks and they ended up having boys. My tech did go back several times during the anatomy scan and came to the same conclusion each time, and she explained to me, too, what she was seeing. So I guess that's as much certainty as I could get, and I am going with it. Cannot question it forever.
